What happens when.

  1. Side events begin

    The pre-Devcon weekend. The community calendar on Luma has the list; rates are lowest before the week starts.

  2. India Blockchain Week, day one

    At the Fairmont, near the airport. Bandra and BKC are still quiet.

  3. Blockchain Week day two

    The day before Devcon. Side events run late; Elephanta and the Monday-closed galleries are shut.

  4. Devcon day one

    Doors are reported for 9:30. Collect your badge early; the BKC roads lock up after 9 am, so arrive by metro.

  5. Devcon day two

    Full programme. The easiest evening of the week for a dinner booking.

  6. Devcon day three

    ETHGlobal Mumbai is listed for the same building this week. Confirm its dates.

  7. Devcon closes, Dhanteras

    Ends about 5 pm. Hotels switch to festival pricing tonight.

  8. Naraka Chaturdashi

    The first loud night. Lanterns on Colaba Causeway; cab fares surge.

  9. Diwali, Lakshmi Puja

    Walk Marine Drive after dark. Markets and banks are closed; hotels, malls and the metro run.

  10. The quiet day

    Elephanta, Kanheri and Jehangir shut on Mondays. A good day to fly out.

  • Expect them before and after

    Devcon asks hosts to avoid its four days, so the busy evenings are 31 Oct to 2 Nov and 6 to 7 Nov.

  • Where they tend to be

    BKC, the big airport hotels and Bandra. Check the ride home before you say yes.

  • Plan the way back

    The metro stops at 22:30 and cabs surge late. Share a ride from the venue.
