I am not going to pretend we were calm about it. It landed hard. Months of work, thousands of hours, and the entire thesis of the company, validated in one transaction. Something always breaks on the first real transaction. In our case, the confirmation email took longer than expected to arrive. The booking itself was fine. The payment processed correctly. The flight was reserved. But the confirmation notification had a delay that, while minor in reality, felt like an eternity when we were watching the first booking flow through the system.

We fixed the notification pipeline that afternoon. The fix has handled every subsequent booking without delay.

What it proved
